Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”
Every individual possesses Ki energy, and while all healers employ life force energy or Ki, not all of them utilize Reiki. Reiki represents a distinct spiritual healing system that establishes a connection between you and the life force through the employment of ancient and sacred Reiki symbols.
This connection can only be channeled by individuals who have undergone the process of attunement. It is this attunement that sets Reiki apart from other methods of healing.
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system of natural healing, recommended that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures.
Reiki level 1: Foundation Level
This 1 day course is based on the attunement which opens you up to the Reiki energy.
Once this pathway is established you are able to channel Reiki for the rest of your life using the energy for growth, self development and healing for yourself, your family and your friends.
Once you have been attuned, Reiki will flow through your hands whenever you touch with the intention of healing or helping. Once you have received the first degree attunements, you will have this ability for life. Reiki can safely be used in combination with orthodox medical care and other complementary therapies.
Reiki combines well with many alternative therapies, including Acupuncture, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Kinesiology, Counselling and will increase their effectiveness and decrease the time required to see positive change.

Reiki Level 2: Become a certified practitioner
The second degree allows you to practice Reiki professionally, but it is also very beneficial for your personal use. It is necessary if you intend to practice on the public, whether you are charging for the session or not. However, because of the attunement, which further strengthens the flow of Reiki and the powerful new tools you will learn, many people take it for their own benefit and in order to do distance work.
In the Second Degree Workshop you are given three sacred symbols, or keys which refine, focus and maximise the energy flow, each having a specific function and vibration.
You will receive the Power Symbol, the Mental/Emotional Symbol and the Distance Symbol. These symbols were put into your aura during the First Degree Attunements.
What happens during the Second Degree Attunements is that these symbols are brought into your conscious awareness, enabling you to have much more flexibility in your use of Reiki, in healing and transformation for self and others. The keys, or symbols, help to focus your mind so that Reiki energy can be sent beyond time and space, and much more.
Effects of Reiki II Attunement:
There is an increase in the power of the Reiki energy. It comes in faster, feels stronger and the rate of flow is increased.
The energy is not just more of the same energy, it is of a higher vibrational rate. There is a further opening of the chakra’s on the palms.
Hands and arms will adjust to the further opening of the Reiki channels which will be established during the 21 day cleansing period.
Be prepared for changes on many different levels; e.g.. Lifestyle, diet etc.; the Second Degree Attunement can create a quantum leap in intuitive awareness, and expand consciousness. This is due to the further opening of the 3rd eye and crown chakra’s.
